I have scratch built this plane. It is about 30% larger than avg park jet. I don't even know if it will fly but I would like to have a name for it before I begin to dig it out of the ground. LOL Chas GR-22 043.JPG GR-22 037.JPG

I am sure it will fly as long as you get the cg right.

I never name my planes. They just don’t last that long. I also don’t count the hours to build them.

I never name my planes as I never design and cut my own but I do make my own quads and name them myself lol

Tomorrow..if I can get the winds to co operate. It may be a little persnickety when I do because of the 10x4.5 prop with 1400kvp motor. It sure has a lot of thrust when I rev the motor. All that wind going over those giant elevons??? I will send a video as I may need my shovel again!!lol chas ps. I also had to do some footwork to get my pushrods to accommodate that large prop opening. I had to widen the whole plane.

  13. 30 to 40% throttle should be lots for a smooth launch depending how heavy it is. Don't launch like you do with the high kv motor and small prop.

  15. Tons of thrust so you will have loads of fun but it won't be super fast, fast but not super. ;) Once you get it dialed in , you should be able to fight the winds also.

  16. If you do a vertical thrust test my guess at 50% throttle it will want to climb no problem.

Well......the 35+ Mph winds would not let up. Wildthing told me to thrust ck it and it would climb out of my hand at less than 1/4 throttle so I decided to give the CosmArrow it's maiden flight in less than desirable circumstances. It turned out to be tail heavy but with fighting the elements I really could not tell how much. I brought it back but is was not a pretty flight nor landing. If it lets up tomorrow some I can adj the CG and put it through it's paces. Chas Ps the time stamp of video is incorrect...today is 12-11-18

You were correct...thrust is not an issue at all....and for that reason alone I did not avoid flying because of the winds. If I got in trouble with the CG (which I did) I was confident that I could power through it and at least get it down. The CG turned out to be way off. It is much much much farther forward than I would have imagined. I think it is because I have so much wing surface area laterally and distally!! chas

  19. You got it though? That is without destroying it. LOL

  20. Loves those, I got it up now how the heck do I get it down without destroying it.

Move the battery ahead atleast a 1/2" and go at it again. Well done. :)
