Double Ugly is the nickname of the McDonnell Douglas Phantom.

  2. I had sort of thought of doing something like that except I wanted to run my 10" props, even as I have it now it is about 1" lower then the tail (which is tapered up) but if I put it on top I would be atleast another 3" higher.

  3. I had to google that. :D

  11. Maybe my cg should be in the rear wing????? ;) ;)

Hey, weird **** with this new computer, do you hear any sound in the video. Playback in my player and or on You Tube nothing unless I go into video editor and then there is sound , otherwise I was thinking it was my camera until I opened up a video in the editor and sound came back. .

    Wild,

Here are a few things I “might” consider.

Move Elevons to the rear wing and remove them from the front wings.

Add 3” to each wing tip of the rear wing.

Chop 3” off both right and left front wings.

Add 1/2” up tips (side force generators to the front wings tips).

Put a very nice Camo paint job on the top leaving the bottom unpainted.

Most important of all,.,. Put it up on the shelf, then walk slowly away from the plane Jeff and put the Xacto knife DOWN!

Take slow deep deliberate breaths and repeat after me.

It will not drill, it will not Drill, IT WILL NOT DRILL!

I can never hear what you are saying on all the videos you have made. Can you turn the volume up on the camera?

It is a very difficult job to calculate the CoG on this beast because of the forward sweep and swept back wing.
I would have made a chuck glider to find the ball park I should be pitching in:)

  16. Nope, this is where it gets weird. I can play any video on You Tube and it has sound, play mine whether on the website or right off the computer I get nothing. If when I am in the video manager of You Tube and I go as if I am going to edit a video, when in there if I click on "sound" the video plays and has sound but only as long as I am in video manager.

    Wild,
    Don’t use YouTubes editer.

Use a stand alone video editer then upload to YouTube.

Even Windows built in video editor is good enough for basic editing of your video,

At least do your offline video editing using a windows program then upload that to YouTube as a test to see if that solves your sound problem.

I have 6-7 different video and sound editors/mixer apps on my PCs and even the plain vanilla media app built into Windows will do the basic editing you need.

    BB56,

Depending on the quality of the camera, the built in mic on almost all of them is pretty terrible. Sometimes it’s possible to get decent sound but not usually, not really.

To get quality sound, generally a separate mic is needed.

Location/distance of the camera with its built in mic from the person doing the talking, is a major factor in hearing what the subject is saying, otherwise it isn’t likely that turning up the sound will help because when you turn it up in the edit the background sound increases right along with it.

What you often get then is just more noise.

Jeff might be able to solve the problem by adjusting the direction of the cameras built in mic closer to his mouth and or pointing more in the direction of his mouth in relation to where the camera is while filming the flight.

If the camera allows this, attach a lapel mic separate from the camera mic near his voice box.

Helmet cams or hat cams have a tendency to work ok because their built in mic is in relative close proximity to your voice.

If the camera is behind you or too far out in front you can get good video but not as good narrative from the RC Pilot.

PLUS,.. it doesn’t help if you mumble after having a few cuts of this swamp shine.

I think the problem with Jeff`s video is the camera position on his transmitter.
I have a mobius stuck on me bonce and it picks up every grunt, groan, sigh, sniff and wheeze:D
