We should setup a large network session fly in over the holidays on phoenix.

Now many aj's will fit in one screen
Enjoy a good dogfight or run laps.
Just clown around for a couple hours.

50k rpm ... is some serious head speed.

  5. Well I know my radio has the square pin plug on the back. The only guy I know that has a simulator though has Real Flight to. :(

Ebay has wireless connectors... You still plug the dongle in... But then use a RX.... Wireless to the radio.... It is what I use, as the tether cord eventually developed a short on my last one

Almost ready to maiden the Alpha Jet. Need to figure out some paint idea that won't mess up the night lights. IMG_0719.JPG IMG_0720.JPG IMG_0721.JPG

I like how you supported the vertical stabs... a must in my opinion.

One more suggestion is to add some tape or glass the lower panel in this area I've circled.

If it was to give up on a hard landing this is normally the one weeker point that lets go first.

Nice AJ. I'll be interested to hear your impression once you had a chance to throw it around a little bit.

  14. I second that about adding tape on the bottom as Tom shows...
    Definitely need the reinforcement there...
    Nice looking plane!

Thanks for the pointer about the tape. I put 4 BBQ skewers on the inside to support this area you highlighted. I used 1mm x 4mm flat carbon in the tail. Really easy as all you need to do is cut right through with the knife and glue it in there.
I did put some colour on it for day flying. IMG_0732.JPG IMG_0730.JPG IMG_0734.JPG

    Oh very cool....you're on it

I never felt comfortable flying an all white plane either. It's fine for 'give it a spin around the field' to get a feel for it but I never seem to stop there....push it !!

Orientation on naked foam riddles my eye so I decided to always color my planes anyway....worry about the crash when I get there.

  17. At night time you won't see any of that paint, just the led's. :D :D That goes for top or bottom. :D :D

I got out today for the Maiden flight. I am very happy with it. The first 2 mins were me getting the elevator trim right. After that it flew wonderfully.

You braved the cold for a maiden, and with a catch at the end, wow!

What are you running for motor, prop, battery?
