Nicely done Icsbpowell... I've always liked how the alpha jets would 'glow from within', when lighted that way.

It makes a very distinctive light trail when they fly too. Very cool.

Woah, that is pretty amazing, Bill! What a professional looking build! Love the star trek insignia, although this is definitely a star wars style plane

Thanks. I'll give that a try. By any chance do you know how to get a video off an iPhone to the computer when it's too large to send by email?

Do you have a cloud drive. I usually migrate things across platform that way. Transfer files between cell phone, tablet and pc.

The only real downside to this is it's a very slow method of transfer.

Otherwise a usb cable and you can drag and drop across that way quite fast.

Greg- thanks for the praise. It's probably a little over engineered but it was fun figuring it out. Next time I would use less lights and attach them to the sloping sides of the inner fuselage. I think you'd get just as much light through the bottom with half as many lights (and weight).

  7. Or...
Another way would be to download youtube app on your phone ->
Goto videos and press the lower left button (one with square and up arrow) like here:
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1448129795.690379.jpg

Then just click on youtube button and it will upload it directly:

You can then go on youtube from your computer and manage your video settings...
    Hope this helps...

I've decided it's a good time to build another Alpha Jet. The one pictured below has been through a couple seasons now and the foam (MPF) is getting a little mushy anymore.

Besides after seeing Newt's uber cool lighted version. ..well I just had to have one

My tinker timing is good for this type of project right now, pick at it now and then.

This is one of my goto planes when it's gusty or just foul weather. It's impressive really at how well this frame will handle a cross wind.

This next bird will be a red theme angry bird....with lights

The LED's add so much to the plane since it's so was to keep orientation with the alpha jet. If you keep the bottom white and shine the leds up to the top wing, you'll never get lost. Love the alpha jet for night flying! Good luck with, Tom!

I'm not real sure what I would call it. .. Navajo. .. tiger stripe... ceremonial shield ? I'm also working out something that works well in light/shadow once it's lighted at night.

It is however where I ended up this evening.
