So here she is with big brother. No lights, can't justify the 60$. Maiden this week :) paint for both this winter. She came in at 18.5 oz. A little heavy out of dollar tree foam board. Peeled one side only.

Thanks to FRC for great designs.
    Happy flying!

Wow, both look very nice, YKFlyer! The LED's I saw were $17. I wonder if what you saw are different?

It's a small store. Very poor selection. I think my best bet is HK. I'll be ordering at Xmas ;)

It is looking GREAT! Does it use the same electronics and RCPowers MPL recommends?

Bad old Alpha Jet knows how to take a punch!
I flew mine straight into some soft dirt and didn't put a scratch on it. Very durable build from FRC!

Headsuprc.com has carbon rods. I just bought some from them along with servos, motors, leads etc. Their shipping cost for expidiet is only 5 bucks. Headsuprc.com is a great place to buy and they ship very fast. also bought all my LED lights for my Alpha Jet from them. I cant say enough good things about them.

Heads Up is my main supplier for a couple of years now,I just recieved a large order from them,Very pleased with them.I only used lazor toys for carbon a while back when every body was out.I also had gotten machine gun lights and machine gun sound simulator from them for my P-51.

I seems they don't carry the machine gun stuff any more, but if you ask them i think they would make them up special.

I built this one so I would have something to fly at night and it is an absolute hoot. I didn't hold back on the lights (4 whole strips) so it's a little heavy but you can't miss it. I found a connector set from Radio Shack that has (10) 12" very light gauge wires with connectors on both ends (heat shrunk) and a 40-pin plastic strip that can be cut into any length you want. I cut the wires in half, giving me 20 connectors on lead wires. I soldered extensions as needed from wire I stripped out of standard telephone wire. The kit includes a plastic strip with 40 pin connectors that can be cut into any length needed. I soldered a piece of wire across the pins on one end created simple Buss bars for positive and negative connections. I used to own boats and that's how electrical connections are made. It makes it really easy to connect and disconnect lights. I think it was easier (and more elegant) than trying to wrap and solder all the lighting wires together. Tried to get video but wife couldn't track the plane at night.

BTW: Can't seem to figure out how to post video. What format does it need to be? I installed a light controller and hooked it up to the lights on the fins and the white light up front. Looks great!
