This paint scheme is CRAZY!! And I like how the nose took the simplicity from the Su-27 and retained the scale looks.
Should be a huge blast to fly, and there is so much room for customizations just like every V5.

Almost everything. Dave spent about a year or so dialing in the vertical stabilizers from the old Su-34 which we then started using those specs for all our V5's. Less size on control surfaces because of dialed in aerodynamics, smaller plane size because stability has been dialed in, motor placement better understood based more closely to center of gravity, way cleaner build (less unnecessary parts and connections that are not thought through), and it flies better... like a lot better.

Wow--kind of sneaked this one under the radar. (Ha--airplane pun!) Looks good and flies well. The nose is definitely a fashion statement, too.

Nice job, gang. I like that you keep refining the airplanes. I'd also like to see a fly-off between V4 and V5 if the V4 was scaled down so they were the same size. Cool plane.

    Fly safely,

    SL

Never really got to know the V4, as it was the first plane I built, the first plane I flew (sort of) and the first plane I destroyed. lol. After my 1st maiden flight attempt (had servo's reversed) was a failure, albeit, little damage, the next weekend I finally got her into the air. Did my 1st ever bank, straightened her out, then another bank, its flying towards me now, and BAM, all I see is a sea of orange foam bits everywhere. hahahahaha. I flew straight into a chain link fence that I never saw, so I was still on the throttle when the impact happened.

I just wish I had that on video. My wife 1st asked, "Are you ok", to which I replied "Yea, I just wish I recorded that, that was SPECTACULAR". Then she laughed as well. She also told me she never saw the fence either cause she was just watching the plane.

So I think i will have to have a go at the V5 and see if I fare any better. :)

Another new one!? You guys are in overdrive! I think this will put me about 5 planes behind in the build queue... :) The V4 is still one of my favorites, so I'll definitely have to add the V5!

Nice build. Looking forward to the maiden flight report. Great size comparison, too.

Is that a captive breeding program you have there, DM? It should cut down on the building time, and it would be great to reintroduce them into the wild. (Huh, hope that isn't too risque . . . . Moderator ruling. please?)
