That's where I get all my foam from.

  2. I never bought it because I liked the full sized sheets of foam Depron came in. The Value XPS is the same as MPF I think, 24"X48" . I will have to be stingy on my last sheets of Depron. ;)

Depron was too expensive for me as quick as I go threw it,I started out with it then I found out about MPF and got more for my money.

Actually Depron is heated floor insulation in Europe so it IS a commercial product. It just happened to have a dual purpose in Hobby circles. The reason you can't readily buy it in North America is because it doesn't meet code standards here.

I don't remember who the manufacturer is off the top of my head BUT I do happen to have a full box of 10 pristine sheets in my garage that has that info on it. I'll post it here once I get a chance to get a look at the box.

I lost mine a few years back. If found, do not return, it's defective anyway...

I was just looking at their products and it looks like they don't even make the same type of floor underlayment (Depron or aerofoam) anymore. They look more like flexible products than rigid ones.

  11. The only place they shipped to for the hobby industry was RC Foam, that is in the US anyways

I spoke to Selit a few years backand the reason why they would never ship to anywhere or anyone else in North America was because they had a exclusive agreement with RC Foam to supply their product in North America.

I had tried to get a distributorship for Canada at that time but was refused on this basis.

Are you going to try again?
    Probably not a good idea.

At that time I had the means to try. Currently I do not so unfortunately no.

  15. And I think even if you wanted to it would be futile, they already cut off an exclusive distributor so why sign another one. That is unless RC Foam isn't telling the whole truth.

The only way to find out is to talk to Selit directly and see what they have to say about it.

  17. Just got an email from RC Foam , the Fli-Power Value XPS 6mm foam which are 24" X 48" and 16 to a case are on for $19.99, normally $39.99. I have now used it and don't mind it other then the rougher surface then the Depron but the savings on the case lot pays for the shipping cost so I ordered 2 .

    Yeah rx'd the same advert....

It still feels a little sad in some way being the end of an era and a business plan for rcfoam. They've always represented good quality product but was ultimately the indirect victim of a market change in building material.

Model Plane Foam (MPF) is now my goto source for foam in my part of the world. Shipping is still ridiculous... so some things are still much the same ?

As I understand, Depron is not flat as it used to be, I guess it was too expensive for them to make in this way, besides it is a floor insulation, so what do they care about the modelers? New Depron board is bent and rippled..

Ok? Do you mean $19.99 per case of 16 sheets? What is the shipping cost per case?
