Here's a short video of my Hydro Duck in flight. Still haven't gotten her on the water yet. I apologize for the portait format. I was flying, and this nice lady walked up and was excited about the plane. She offered to video it and I failed to realize she was shooting in portait mode.

If you "Bud Lite" it flys better than when you build heavy.

It was about an hour for both. I am ised to cutting smaller detailed decals out for the cockpits in the superscale helis at my work... Thanks for the comment!!

My first Hydro smashed into the ice - broken control horn on the elevon. So, here is round 2.

I really like this plane - great job RC Powers!

Nice touch Newt ... it would look like you have a good balance going on.

Nice was there anything you changed between the first one and 2nd one besides control horn? :D Seems pretty balanced considering the windy conditions.

    Thanks,

    Hey Rob,
Yeah I made a couple of changes:
    1) mounted the motor and electronics bay before mounting the cockpit
    2) gave the motor a little more down thrust
    3) mounted the cockpit as far forward as possible - actually hung it out over the nose a little
    4) added nose weight to get it balanced right on the cg marks

Glad you put that as the number one answer. I modified the cockpit and made it even harder to attach my motor. That would be a good build tip to add to the plans.

    Newt,
Amazing! how nice it flies, fast when you want to fly fast, stable at lower speeds in high alpha. But not so strange when its DDelta design is similar to the Saab 210 Little Dragon (Lill-Draken), the prototype of the J35 Dragon.

Now that you mention it - sure does resemble the Saab!
Very fun and stable flier and the simplicity of the design and build are what impressed me.
The rudder has just the right amount of authority for my taste which makes slow and high aoa flying easy.
I forgot to shoot some video of inverted flying. It is just as stable inverted as not.

Sounds nice, would be nice to see that inv. video!
Be careful with it, so that you can bring it to the beach when summer comes..:)

I haven't had time to build on my Hydrojet now during the Easter... hope to get some time to build over the next weekend.

Yea, I made this same suggestion early in this thread as I realized it would have been much easier.

    Hydro Update

Got something done this weekend to my HydroJet. a

Airtime is what counts now, gonna be quite calm weather tomorrow, so it's time to wake my F15 V5 Twin.:)

Some pic's of today's hydrojet job.
The 3mm Depron wing plate that I got completed today.
0,4x3mm carbon strips and balsa wood to make the wing stiffer, just like did to my 3mm F22 V5 wingplate.
