  1. Do you have a stl file on it? I can import it into Rhino and see if I can scale it to fit.

  3. Hatch is complete, test pilot trying out his seat :) . Kf's are trimmed and sanded . Next to start installing the hardware and controls. I was going to put the servos on the bottom side but because of my accidently downsizing the plans the space I wanted to put them in is 2mm shy for thickness so topside it is.

  5. Now to start on a new version for combat wars :) , tractor not pusher of course.

  6. Well it does fly, -15 and a 15k wind what the heck, oh and you had to launch straight into the sun so needless to say I couldn't see it. How well it flew, well I was definitely tail heavy so that along with my roll throws could be tunes down 50% . With it being tail heavy who know what the pitch is like. The video is only a couple minutes and the plane only came into view twice, had my hands full just trying to get it home so I didn't have a long walk. It was fast, only running a cheap no name Bangood motor on it 2212 2700kv on 3S with a 6X4 prop. Even though it didn't get captured on the video but I made one pass by me after launch and it was cruising. This guy only has a 24" WS so I expected some twitchiness, now to build the size it was suppose to be and that was right around 29" .

Congratulations Wildthing .... seeing you experimenting with unique designs using Rhino and made it to make it float in tthe air.

Your motivation and persistence remind me of the time when I was intensively endorsed and encouraged by BB56 in my early times with this hobby. If it wasn't because of him, I wouldn't come up with many design up to this point

  8. Well if it wasn't for you and BB56 and this whole forum , not sure what I would be doing. :)

I know if I moved the weight ahead and dialed down the throws I could make it fly good, still with just a 24" ws it would always be a little twitchy so now to start on the Harley Speedster Combat plane , plans are at Staples already getting printed. The little guy will end up as some wall art, rather that then me destroying it :D

  9. It's to bad I didn't get more of the flight on video, me paws were a little busy keeping it up in the are and with the wind and being tail heavy it was a handful especially against the wind. . :D :D

  10. Ok so the Harley Speedster got some color and some custom home made decals, now it will become a wall queen at my friends garage who is of course a Harley man through and through. Now to start on the Harley Combat version. :)

  11. Assembly has started for the Harley Combat Plane. Lower fuse going together first and the wingplate is a perfect jig to square it up. I was going to install cf rods into the upper or lower side fuse panels and decided to double the upper side fuse panels, still loads of room width wise for the battery .

  14. This one is a fairly simple build, but I am sure I spent more time converting the plans to tractor then if I would have just started from scratch :D :D

We are suppose to hit the plus side of the thermometer Thursday, here is hoping it happens and no wind. ;)

  15. Deadline for a possible Thursday maiden so no time to let the glue cure. Tomorrow should be the hatch, vertical, trim & sand KF's and control horns/rods. :) 2018_1120_161003_004.JPG 2018_1120_161013_005.JPG 2018_1120_163652_001.JPG 2018_1120_182034_001.JPG 2018_1120_190815_001.JPG 2018_1120_190829_002.JPG 2018_1120_190844_003.JPG 2018_1120_192303_001.JPG

  16. Getting close to being ready for it's maiden. Controls are all in, kf's sanded, vertical is on and hatch is built.. Just did a little wedge filling on the nose and that will be the last of the sanding and then to check the balance. The way it looks is the battery should be right on the cg mark . This has the Turnigy 1400kc 2826 10T motor in it along with a 40A esc and will spin a 10X5 prop on 3S.

  18. Hopefully it's mean in the skies in combat :)

  19. Everything is done and balanced, well hopefully balanced, ready for the maiden. :) Having thoughts about cutting in a rudder but we will wait until the maiden is done.

  20. Well 4 flights later and the new Harley Speedster Combat Jet is dialed in pretty good and should be a contender . :) Started off a tad nose heavy and throws I had tuned down quite a bit , slowly moved the battery back and adjusted the throws up and it flies like the Baron now and will do almost anything you want it to.
4th flight is where it is dialed in good, still could move the battery back a hair but with an added streamer it might balance perfectly.
