    Hello everybody,

I'm quite new in this hobby and did my first experience in building FT builds with poster board.
The problem is, I'm from Germany and the poster board i get here is nearly 3 times heavier than the FT material.
So i decided to try it with depron and following your thread very interested.
Is it maybe possible to get the modified Explorer plans from you?

    Greetings from Germany

    Thank you very much.

I will upload some pictures when I build something useful:).

No I didn't try one of these plans . But maybe in a future project.

Okay I'm convinced. .. the pod is the only thing that will make any sense really. Hang the flight battery under the deck. ... cam junk on the top side.

Would make for a pretty ugly nose though and then to carve up another foam nose to fit over "all that".

    I'll figure something out.

Seems as though it would be easy enough to whip up a custom nose for FPV.

What kind of glue do you use with depron?

There are a few glues that work will work safely against foam.

    Foam tac
    Foam cure
    5 minute epoxy
    CA foam safe glue.

I normally use 2 different glues during a build. Foam tac for all the foam to foam connections and then epoxy in the areas like the motor mount, control horns as such where I want a more solid, less flexible connection.

UHU por works fine even if I need a lot of patience to work with.

    First parts are done:) IMAG0118.jpg

Hey @malukk. Can I please get these plans from you as well? I've got an FPV itch I haven't scratched since I retired my racing quad.

  12. I finally am at the stage to put pan and tilt system on this plane...
Here is what I have done:

    Comparing the two nose pieces:

Made a tray in the front to hold the servo:

    And installed:

Slick... you essentially raised the floor and I ended up thinking the same direction exempt I was wanting to fasten to the battery floor all the time. What you've done here actually looks very nice.

Let me know if you get any strange vibes off the nose piece this way ?

Also did you add magnets to the nose. It seems snug enough to ride along without the extra hardware.

  14. Thanks...
I did not really want to be this as a permanent part on the plane so went with swappable too!
Next step is to put some velcro latches from nose to fuselage so that the nose stays in place and doesnot move...
The servo kinda touches the battery tray for added stability so I guess it should be good...

Did you experience any vibrations/jello from the nose piece?

  15. Very nice Maluk.

  16. I did not add magnets to it.. Its a snug fit however, I have glued a velcro strap to nose and the fuse to just hold it in place so that it doesnt come off due to camera weight... It will also help the nose to not move mid-flight... Will try it out today and report back :)

Thanks! Not a fatshark product, then I've to buy the FPV cam separately, right?
Ohh, head tracking, do I need fatshark goggles for that.

  20. It is a fatshark product... The pan and tilt without camera:

    This is with camera:

Yes, for headtracking I am using my fatshark goggles - I had to buy the headtracking chip separately though... It makes me look crazy when I am moving my head like that while flying, Lol :p
