Thankx for the advice.... however the fishtailing was before the stabilizer. It WAS flying really smooth today..... until I flew out of the rx range! Guess what... crashed it and because I tried the kf4 profiles I had not enough up trim on the elevator. Well, my carbon rod was a really good idea... just need a new nosejob. However couldn't wait and flew with the broken nose!!!

Ok, thinking of it... I will try to make a different approach with the nose... solid nose from multiple layers of depron. Work last time on my little F-4 phantom
[IMG] already glued it together with .. tatatah.. uhupor

I used to always do that cf rod up to the nose and it really works!

Thanks. Thats true, your design looked really slick and scale. However repairing score and fold is difficult to repair when the internal structure is also squished. This gives me hopefully some additional protection when pilot error strikes again...

Finally the weather was good enough to do some flights. I was curious to try out a 4s setup.. well it sucked! Some how my 60 amp esc does not like full throttle on a 4s with the ntm 2700kv motor. Does anyone has the specification of that motor to adjust my esc setting. Somehow it cuts out at slightly above half throttle. 3s is fine and actually good enough, but with the repaired solid nose it put on some weight. Well its a heavy fighter anyway.

Hb9801,It must be drawing too many amps for your esc and the esc is cutting out. I'm using an exceed proton 60 amp just fine. A question :are you using 40c minimum batteries? For that motor on 4s, even 3s you need a higher discharge battery. The motor timing on the esc should not cause that. Also, on 4s you should be using a 4-5 inch prop to be safe with your amp draw. I used a 4.5x4.5 just fine.

What ESC are you using? I have 2 TGY 60A Plush running my big 4 motor Su-37
For two of the motors, NTM 2700kv. Works great on 4s! Timing set to high, zippy 2000mAh 45c Flight Max. (6x4 APC prop, not good for these motors, but I have no other option right now)

Yes! 6x4 is not good for the 2700kv ... with 4s batteries;-)

Ok, thanks for that information. Aktually it is a 70Amp ecs with external 5A BEC. Unfortunatly I do not have these small props. How much amps does this sucker draw on 4s.
For calculation purposes I use www.ecalc.ch. unfortunatly there is no ntm 2700 kv motor. So I used an
    ElectriFly AMMO 28-35-2700 2700kv 550w 94gr as a reference. With a 7x4 prop it will output 55oz of thrust on 3s. With a 4.75x4.75 prop on 4s only 51oz thrust. 6x4 4s horrifying 69oz thrust with 45Amps draw,
on 3s only 44 oz but the prop will stall in flight. Anybody can confirm these values?

Np! The default should be fine. I left mine there and it did super! After dialing in the power system with proper battery and prop, you can start messing with the timing, but that's about it.
This is the ntm on 4s with 5.25x6.25 prop.

A good head cam is really nice if you don't have a camera person. I used the contour 1080 until last year when they went out of business. I then got the Sony AS15 action cam. Very nice! But I see contour is now back in business! Good luck!
