Nice! My question is about the elevators. They seem short and stubby, to me. Is that because of it being an active tail?

The balance on this plane is so good (at the right cg) that the elevons at this size are more than enough. The plane really pivots around the cg effortlessly! Both on pitch and roll.

the elevons are actually larger than scale to give as much thrust vectoring as possible and still look good on the plane. AsSoulsDream i dont think it would be big enough for a rudder but you could enlarge it if you wanted. here is a vid of todays flight added aileros and spoilerons for a little high alpha, i have not edited because my editors have ran out of ther free trial. watch until the end i lost control and belly flopped into the ground, caused a bit of damage but will glue up ok.

Can you tell us the motor, battery, speed control, receiver, prop and servo sizes you were running on this plane you built? Give away your TX info also.

if you download the plans from here all the info is on the plans when you print them out. http://frcfoamies.blogspot.co.uk/
i was running the 2700kv and a 1800mah 20c 3s lipo in the vid, all the rest was as in plans. my tx is a futaba 6ex and rx is a Frsky FASST-compatible.

Every time I see this model flying I keep saying I have to build one...One day I will start it. What a great flyer. I have two that I have to complete before the Fly In on the 28th. Again, what a great handling plane!!!

April 28th Bob. You would have to rent a u haul for all your planes! Come on down! Dan has a thread on it somewhere here.

for any one who is building this, if you add ailerons put an extra carbon spar in front of the prop slot. if you only put one spar behind the prop slot the ailerons are too close to the spar and is not as effective as it is without ailerons and you get flex in the wing.
