Flight #8 was going really well. I was able to do a lot of very low high alpha. I might have been showing off for some ppl around me. I was flying along really fast and lost my perspective in the sunset and crashed really bad. I was a little upset for crashing but with #2 sitting on the shelf ready to go I was more excited to get #2 in the air. She is all ready to go now and I will be posting a walk-around another day.

Thanks for the patients with me posting some bad quality videos as I am learning the editing portion.

I really like the extra plate that you added to the bottom of the plane. should make the rear much more rigid.

That is what we were thinking too. Some of the SU30's that we fly have the same problem.

We just take it and with some force pull if at an angle over a sharp edge, like the edge of your desk. it takes some practice, and sometimes you crack it, but the trick is to do with just enough pressure to create a curve in the foam after several passes, the more you do it, the more it curves. We did some others with heat from a heat gun and then gently bend it. The edge of the desk seems to work the best for the 3mm foam.

thanks. oh i see, you used 3mm. that's probably much easier than a 6mm foam. but definitely make sense for that purpose

i like the way you built the "struts" between vertical and horizontal plates. how did you make them. do you have more detail photos on that? would appreciate it, because i am building the SBACH, and i also want to add some struts

There was an active thread on the sbach awhile back http://www.rcpowers.com/community/threads/frcfoamies-sbach-342-advanced-profile-parkjet.18604/

Scroll through and on page 2 post #17 is a photo of how I ribbed along that seam.

    Hope that helps ?

so for the F-16 you also made small triangles as for the SBACH, put them along the fuselage and covered it by a 3mm depron sheet? could you please post some more photos to see details on your F-16? thx in advance

I looked around and I didn't take any actual build photos, only the finished product.

You are correct. Some 6mm wedges to hold the shape and a 3mm skin tac'd over that.
Then the rest of that seam I sliced a long 45° strip of 9mm and tac'd that along the inside.

You can get the 3 mm Depron at Hobbytown USA here in the states. Not sure if they are where you are at. I have also bought the 6mm there as well in the past. Some of the local hobby stores sell it as well.

Thank you. The number 5 for the Thunderbirds is on purpose as they have always done that as it is usually the one that does inverted flight, so when it is the number is right side up. image.jpeg
