one of my problems is when enjoying a build I forget to go and fly.

Good work, KK! Funny how that all disappears in a matter of seconds once the skin goes on. I will explore putting esc's inside the nacelles to give the plane greater stability. Keep a little weight below the wingplate. We'll see how it works!

  4. So some more progress made today and almost there with the skin on top to go...

This time along I did put the CF strip in the vertical stabs. Curved them along the and now they are very stiff and good!

And all the electronics are hiding in the nacelles and it looks clean underneath:

    What pushrods are those?

  7. That is a regular music wire being passed thru a thin plastic tube that I use regularly at work. However you can also find good slippery tubes specifically designed for this purpose from HK or Dubro. Search for “push rod sleeve” and you should see it. My music wire is 0.8mm thick and the tube is 1.2mm thick [and not as slippery] but the bigger diameter doesn’t allow the rod to bind so works out just fine :)

  8. I picked up a Monro air shock airline kit which are fairly cheap and it's a good size roll.

    Sweet ...

I'm following your lead and picked up some 3-blade Dalprops to put a little more snot on the throttle stick.

... and they're color matched too [IMG]

  11. 4 blade are even better but they suck for fuel mileage. ;)

That was the trade off and why I settled for a 3 blade. It was you in fact, that mentioned this before ?

A typical 5x4 blade works yeah but.. more is always better right ? It flew a little too docile for my taste.

  13. That's right too, I think I even mentioned I had blue color matching ones also. :D :D

I believe at some point more blades begin to get inefficient as the turbulence from one blade begins to interfere with the next in rotation. It almost sounds like a cavitation noise like you get with edf. I've had good experience with 3 blades though.
