I had the same impression. The two blade seemed to be a little more snappy on the lower end.

Three blade run a little cooler but lost that snap. I did like the sound the three blade prop made on a throttle punch. It sounded faster than it actually was

  2. Did you try their Q5040 blades which are the 4 blade 4 pitch ones? Total different sound and I think just a bit more snap then the 3 bladed 5x4.5 ones. Next flight will be the test. :)

  3. Flight #1 for today with the FRC Mig-29 using the new Dalprop Q5040 props, 4 blade 5X4 . I really like these, really good thrust and speed seems as good if not better then the APC 5X3 2 blade props. All temps seemed to be ok also, no smoke or fire. :D :D

  4. Flight number 2 :) Fast forward 1 1/2 minutes. :)

Really nice series of flights Jeff!:)
You have been quite alone at the arena with the FRC MiG this summer. For my own part, I have had bad luck with windy weather during my five-week summer holiday... just two Flights... :-/

OK, a month's summer vacation is over and everything returns to normal... The summer has unfortunately not been good for model flying, sunny but extremely dry and windy...
I have due to bad timing and very windy weather been in the air just twice.
Here comes one of the two flights I managed to get during the last 5 weeks. lol!
I switched from DYS 4-Blade 5040 CW + CCW Purple to
    DAL 5045 v2 3-Blade CW + CCW Orange.

    That time already .... wow.
... and back to the grind even.

It's always fun to have to you around mess'n up a perfectly good plan anytime you want.

You did some very interesting things to and with the new MiG-29 and presented her well. Nicely done Lars.

  12. had the girl out for a little spin today trying out the Dalprop 4 blade 5X4 ones, great thrust but they did eat up the battery quicker even running 1/2 throttle.

  14. You bet, those are them Tom. Good bottom end thrust but I did lose some flight time. I am going to try their 3 blade 5X4.5 next and see how long the battery lasts, slightly less thrust though. #T5045

A warning to all of you,
I heard a strange noise from the plane that was on charge indoors before my first flight since early July, the battery started to swell and smoke so I threw the plane out on the lawn, a few seconds later BANG! there came the explosion. Luckily, I was there, working on my third FRC MiG when the battery failed. Otherwise, the whole house could have... yeah...

Airflow, glad you were there and knew what to do. Sorry about your plane though. It's always hard to see that work go up in smoke.

Thank you Eric, it had not reached ten flights, 5 or 6 I think... but of less importance, the house is still standing!

  19. Scary crap those lipo's , super glad you were there to catch it so all you lost was a few pieces of foam.

Yup.. Absolutely! it was a cheap fire actually, instead of what it could have been. Haha :-D
Foam, two ESC's and a receiver:)

But now I have to build a new one for my "new" backup plane, which now becomes the regular one. lol:D
Maiden tomorrow if God wants to.:)
