Last year we released our first plane in the scale series, the FRCFoamies F22 Raptor Scale Parkjet.

The main idea was to make a score and fold parkjet that looked as close to a store bought plane as possible. It is easy to build because it is score and fold, it has a rear mount motor to maintain the scale look, and Yes, definitely looks store bought. But what really surprised us was how much the sculpted skin on the body added to the performance! We have had many pilots tell us how the F22 Raptor is the smoothest, most well rounded scale parkjet they've ever flown. Super lift coming off that sculpted body! Super low drag too. So we gave the scale treatment to the Mig 29!

The mig 29 is geared for the advanced pilot looking for a completely scale looking plane with crazy performance. The TWIN Counter-rotating props give incredible stability and are mounted to the elevons for insane maneuverability. We're basing the build on small, inexpensive and lightweight racing quad motors using 5 inch props that only require 20 amp esc's and standard size batteries.

Testing is under way and the plans will be available shortly. Watch this space for further information!

  2. Wow! That is such a awesome looking plane!!! Looking forward to build one... Esp. with the power system that you guys recommend - light and powerful from the multi-rotor world...

  3. Oh my, I like the twin pusher setup, looks really interesting. Nice work guys.

Haha, I'm 100 all over the light build but with twin props I always ended up adding a heavier battery to keep the plane from pulling out of high alpha at 1/2 throttle. Like on the su37 twin I took that from 36 oz up to 41 I think? Anyway, with these motors on 3s and 5 x3. 5x3 props I'm thinking 28-30 oz should do it! We'll see!

I do this now when building a plane...

    supplies check...

    foam - check
    tape - check
    knife - check
    electronics - check
    control horns - check
WHOLE BAG OF THE LONG GLUE STICKS FOR ONE FOAMIE

    Check

    ;)

this is about right for one normal sized plane for me now.... lol

Haha, good one Dan, just don't use them all! I used to weigh my sticks before building so that I knew exactly how much weight I'm adding during the build. That is, when I used to use hot glue

You will love the twin motor setup, bags of power but zero torque roll!
