Don't get me wrong. I love the plane.
Was just something I noticed that may allow me to get more performance.
Figured I'd share it just in case anyone else was interested. That's what the forums are for right. Lol
Let ya know how it works out after a flight or 2

    Hi Guys,
this is a question for Jay or Greg but if anyone else wants to jump in feel free.

I have built a 100% 2.88 and loved its slow and low performance, but I want to fly at a really small field, would a say 80% version be any better in your opinion?

What are the pros and cons of a smaller airframe?

    thanks Paul

I have built a [email protected] 80%, they still fly similar... Just not as much float, and the wind will knock them around more...you will have to notch out the prop slot if you stay with the same prop size. I currently have this one on the bench now....23 inch wingspan, vs the 28....I plan on using a lighter battery too. 626d2b54-abc2-41fa-953e-8f57939a9b5f.jpg

Hi, thanks for your reply, that is pretty much what I thought, I will probably stay with the 100% version, Paul

This one is accidental...I haven't built anything in a while...I grabbed some plans from behind the door, they happened to be ones my print shop messed up and I didn't check...voila, smaller plane. In my opinion though, this is a good choice experiment with...very stable, forgiving, and a check build.

Thanks FED50H, I think you are right there, its a good base to experiment with, the 80% idea came about because of the small field, and after the SU 37 was transformed (in my opinion) when it was scaled down to 80% with the FRC Su37 Mk2.

Paulh998, an 80 percent 2.88 with a light weight power system (mjv3, 1000 3s) would give you the smaller size and still have float. Also, for a small space, have you tried the alpha jet mk2 on 2s? This is me standing about short stop position on a little League field and flying in the outfield. Great for contained spaces and quiet!

Thanks. First build of the season for me. Feeling super lazy. I used tape for all the graphics. I hope to get a flight in this weekend.

A restart of the job to get the second 2.88 done. hopefully before the summer is here.
Not so powerful as the first one, that has 2x2200kv NTM motors by two 5s lipos.
Here i'm gonna use two ordinary 2826 2200kv turnigy motors and a singel 4s battery.
I will not use diff-thrust or gyro guided canards like on the old one. They will be manually operated via the radio together with the leading edge slats.

  20. That looks really interesting, nice. What size of props will you run?
