    Th
That's a great idea. I'll have to give it a try, bamboo skewers are easier to get then wire and they don't add a lot of extra weight. Thanks

  4. Wow Jay,
    Excellent flying and video...
This is what I love about this plane, fast or slow it does all everything so well!
    Really enjoyed your video...
    Building a twin version anytime?

The skewers I had still give up a lot twist. I did the axle for the canards using a skewer and it had way more twist to it than I liked. I ended up going with a cf tube for a stiffer surface.

Thanks, malukk! Your right, it does pretty much anything you want it to do! Not as yet, but maybe in the future a twin will be on the build table!

    K. Discovered what all the hoopla is about high alpha today! Went two mistakes high and....... Omg, what a freaking blast. There was a light breeze and a couple of times, that puppy just hung there frozen. I completely get the rudder thing to hold it now as well. FRC MiG 2.88 is a high alpha machine! Thanks Jay and Greg.

  13. I still love flying this plane, everything about it is just perfect!
May be you should give a try for twin engine, you'd fly that plane pretty much everyday... :D
The twin engine is still my favorite plane to fly...
Like Lars says, once you fly twin engine, there is no going back...

Heres a video from one of my flights having fun with scrape and go with high-alpha:

That is really cool! I love the stability of the twin motors. No torque roll. Unlimited high alpha. Awesome job man.

  16. Yes Dave, this plane is uber stable...
This plane definitely attracts a lot of crowd and people keep asking me if I fly this plane on gyros...
I tell them no and with a little head wind I am even able to hover it for a little bit...
I bet people with better 3d flying skills would be able to hover it for longer than I do...
I will try to get a video of it hovering if I can...

Bench testing the modified MIG 2.88 for some new flight tests.:) Now with two 1800mAh 5s batteries, NTM 2700kv replaced by the more powerful 2200kv Motor.
New tail, vert stabs and nacelles. The vertical stabilizers are angled in about 1.5 degrees "toe-in" (Car term). Static thrust with Master Airscrew props 6x4x3 120 oz of thrust.
The props spinning outwards from the top, like the 5s 2200kv NTM MIG V4 twin.
