Looks better the new position of the landing gear on the yellow (more backward than the original and the red )....
Anyway the spinner looks more elegant on the red

  5. Nice!
Are those tires similar to those used on twisted hobbies' "crack beaver" plane?

exactly the very same ones. Good eye there Kk. I had retired the cracked beaver but held onto the wheels and....they fit perfectly for this.

  7. Indeed, they look perfect on this!

The entire assembly is the fun cub landing gear (kit), admire but set aside the big tires they are way too much.

I did use the provided tail wheel, tinker toyed up the steering linkage stuff to the rudder then of course used the beaver wheels for the front. I needed something that would roll nicely on grass and this is working.

Beautiful plane Tom... I was waiting the takeoff too but I prefer to see the maiden flight in horizontal format....
    be careful about VVS

Hey got a chance to get caught up on this thread here, man, really nice looking plane!
I researched that Durafly Tundra alot and got the bug to fly a plane like this.
Some many little parks and yards that this thing would be alot of fun on.
This one looks for real, very sturdy and stable. That would be a tough plane to design from flat foam.
Anyway, this looks really cool, I hope to get some time to soon to try this one out.

I am hearing what you are saying Dave.

The plane appeals to me because of its potential STOL characteristics and I am always looking for a foam built plane that can fly well in smaller more confined areas as my flying fields seem to be getting smaller and smaller.

I see this plane hopefully filling that sweet spot for me.

Thanks, Dave, it is a blast to fly! The airfoil wing allows it to fly a lot slower than flat foam one we originally had and it also strengthens it a lot. But it has also made it more twitchy in the sense where, once the wing stalls, it stalls! So, we're doing some last minute mods, with the help of TomMonton, to get it really stable right up until you plop it down like the Wild West guy does. You're welcome to a set of plans, btw. It really goes together quickly once the foam is cut. Luckily for me Malukk does a great job cutting!

I flew the pants off her this morning.... well the wheel pants and landing gear loosened up on me anyway. Back home for some more bandaid's and a layer of Lars' coating.

"Lars' coating" : that mysterious brown stuff that Airflow keeps putting on his airplanes.
