Oh Btw, loved seeing the onboard footage, Dave! Is that a sign of things to come? Oh, and nice catch too.

    Update F-16 80% Size

Alright, I've got some spare time to mount the motor in place before a 6min visit to the field, the hot and calm weather continues... on its third week now, and will last at least over the weekend.:p!!

First powertrain out on the sky-track, will be my most lightweight one available.
Its wing loading will then be gradually increased until it ...Yeah?! :D

    TGY Aerodrive 2200kv
    30 or 40A ESC
    1000 or 1300mAh Zippy 3s
    Master Airscrew 6x4x3

Control Surfaces, as simple as possible for my needs.
    Elev/Rud
    No flaps. As usual.
    Servo, 3 HXT 900 9g.

Airfoil will be added later when the time comes for more powerful powertrains.:)

Nice. .. I was thinking of doing the same approach with the rudder. Cancel out most of that roll and create a flatter turn.

    Tom,
Yes, a vertical cut rudder and furthermore half the length of the original, will provide cleaner turns, the plane will not roll-over quite as much as it would with a standard cut rudder.

    Update F-16 mk2 80%

Nose and vertical stabilizer are not yet glued, just curious about its weight and where to place the battery to get COG where it should be.
Its weight with the lightest power setup together with a 1300mAh lipo will end at approximately 12 Oz.

Can't thank you enough & sorry for slow reply. I got plans from FRCFoamies site direct and this was not in the PDFs file. It is exactly what I was looking for. Not sure why, but I'm having trouble stumbling around to find things like this. New to this site so hope to sort out soon. Thanks again for the support. Very helpful!

No problem! When you get the zip file download, there are several pdfs within it. This is one of them that sometimes gets overlooked. Good ouch and check in often! We love seeing what you come up with.

Yep, Asphalt and foam are a bad combination, but who cares about a few scratches .. as long as it doesn't require any repairs!:)

..and here I was settling in for what I thought would be a quick flight with an over reactive bird.

....how wrong, er right I was ?
