Am I correct in assuming that the RCPowers standard motor mount does not work on the F16 mk2? Is there a source where I can order one?
Already downloaded the plans, ready to build, but too lazy to make my own mounts.

Our frcfoamies mount is bigger than the rcpowers but you can just cut the foam narrower to fit the rcpowers mount.

It only take 10 minutes to cut a motor mount out of 3mm plywood.

I found the cause of that shudder I mentioned earlier today. . I mushed the left missile over a little bit too far. ..probably in transport to the field.

I have her in a splint over night while waiting for glue to set.

I started my build of the F-16 mk2. A super easy build, I really like the slot where the 2 halves meet. The air intake is also nicely designed.

I will finish it up and hopefully maiden this weekend. 2015-08-11_20.09.57.jpg

I stayed up late last night and got mine together! Just about done, painting next.
Build was fast and fun. First time in a long time using the blue foam stuff. Worked just fine!
Flying a F-16 at this size is going to very nice!

Very nice Dave! You will have to report back on how that foam performs. I'm sure you are going to like this one, amazing performance for such a short build time. Thanks for building!!

Wow Dave, so nice to hear that! Looks great! You're right - the f16 at this larger size still feels snappy and can carry tons of hot glue weight The single stabilizer is not ideal for a parkjet with the centrally mounted motor, but rudder action is very good at speed. I hear that blue fanfold soaks up rocks nicely
Given the history of this plane being one of the first fly-by-wire purposely unstable designs, it is a good one to try with rear cg and stabilizer to keep it behaved. As it is now, you can fly it with cg a tad behind the motor!

Having some trouble with paint...but it is looking good. I will cover it with tape more than likely. I rarely add before flying first, but much like RCP models, I know the FRCs will fly just fine, "right out of the box.". I'm working midnights, so I'm hoping to maiden this baby over the weekend. Such a simple quick build. The addition of a rudder, missiles and slats take the simple profile to a slightly higher level.

I maidened my FRC F16 MK2 yesterday and it flew just like the mig 2.88. It will not fly straight and level at 0% incidence or less or turn without taking a dive and I am convinced this is due to the LE slats. It really was to windy for the plane but when there was a lull it seemed fine as long as the nose was slightly up, which did not allow for fast flying. I tried to fly it on aileron elevator to begin with but the plane did not respond. I changed to elevons and was a lot better. I did manage to fly her for about 5 minutes, then the wind hit her hard in a turn and I could not get the nose up in time to avoid a dirt nap. The damage is repairable but I am doing away with the LE slats and replace them with KF2 aerofoils. I am also considering removing the rear fuselage and single tail and replacing with twin fins canted out to give some dihedral stability in the turns as Britain only gets a few windless days a year. I would post some pictures but the bloody web is not allowing them to download. After flying the F16 I put the Bixler2 up in the air and only did a very small circuit before bringing it down because the wind was buffeting her around like a cork in a storm. So the little F16 did`nt do to badly.
