Thanks Tom, that makes sense and will stick to tape for now then. The whole idea of this plane is make me really push my skills and not worry if I take it home in 8 pieces :D

Cheap as chips build and when it gets snapped, turn out another one.

With this in mind I may cut out some templates rather than straight from paper so I can churn them out

Work on the F-16 has been very slow lately so it still hasn't flown. It has however been a victim of a couple of hangar incidents, it's been stepped on twice and got a few dints and bumps... :p Nothing that couldn't be fixed though. Still waiting on some colour and a little tidy up inside the hatch.

Me too, it's been almost a month now! Saturday's meant to be really nice, so that'll be maiden day, can't wait. :)

Hey Slingshot, I made a siren buzzer for my larger planes. I don't loose them any more unless I would have a fly away. Some guys talk about gps and such and that's alright if your flushed with the green stuff. Me, I'm a retied ,tired , old fart.I just make my own and they're good for a bout 100 yds. They are load and go off when I turn my tranny off.

Thanks for the kind words, but I think it's got a lot to do with the magic of a dodgy camera, you can't see all the mistakes I've made and the abuse our 6 y.o. has put it through - let's just say the tip of a steel ruler was involved... :D

And thanks for the heads up on the buzzer, I'll have a look at my options.

Speaking of a dodgy camera, just got the top painted red and all I get are shots of a red blob... :D I'll have to see if I can get better lighting or something.

Still haven't had a chance to maiden my bird... Got sick over the weekend (thanks kids!) so it's been a waiting game until the weather and I are a better. Got a half decent scheme on, not the tiger I had planned, but it was my first time with rattle cans as you can see by all the over-spray on the sides. ;)

Still need to paint a canopy on but it's getting there. One thing I did different to the plans on this one was to cut the front vertical piece in half lengthwise. Since I used Uhu I thought I could get a better joint by not having to slide the whole assembly into place and having to square everything off in one go. This allowed me to have the bottom all squared up and the servos sorted while the top of the plane was still nice and flat. Then it was just a matter of making sure the top went on square, glue on the vertical tail piece, and voila. :)

Looking good Slingshot, Jeremy and i have flown a few times now incident free, but it seems that the tail is always attracted to the interior of the ute, i have broken it 3 times now, just the top little piece above the rudder:oops:

If you have not built the F-16 MK 2 you are missing out!
I stopped at the field before work this morning and the wind was just howling. The pros didn't want anything to do with it.

I pulled the F-16 out and threw it into the wind and it was stable as could be. It was so windy and gusty I was gliding it and could get it to go backwards. The guys came and stood around me watching in amazement how it was handling the wind then punch it do a loop and come back 2 feet off the ground and let it hover like someone was holding it with a string.

I finalized the deal with a hand catch landing. AWESOME!

Again if you are looking for a good beginner plane and something easy to build this is your plane.

Wow, excellent report! More and more we hear about us scratch built parkjet fliers taking our birds up in conditions that would ground other pilots. Way to represent! And the hand catch sealed the deal.

The transport vehicle is responsible for more damage... This is my solution.:
