Done with testing of the 3D Lerx and the new airfoil, and it works fine together.
It feels more stable and it also got more lift. I will definitely need it for an upcoming 4s powertrain.

The 3D LERX Video is almost ready to be uploaded.

    Until then, preparations for slats.

    Nervous, my first flight
    ever with slats!

Even more stable at lower speeds.

Airflow do you set the plane to be tail heavy or do you just fly it that way?

That's the whole advantage to LE slats. .. you can float around nice and soft at lower speeds.

I've not hinged mine "yet" ... I've been having too much fun just flying it around and getting aquainted with her.

My next build I had intended to hinge the slats and mix it against the throttle channel.

    Nice work Lars

I have the le flaps active on the FRC f18 and wow! Can that fly slow especially for a rear mount. I have them on a switch because I was testing them by themselves, with flaps, just flaps and spoilerons. Like them working with flaps best!
Like Dave has on his f16!

    Sir SkyHi,
No COG's stock on this one :) but otherwise my SU's and MIG's are very tail heavy. I like having them static unstable to get more radical maneuverability.

Thanks Tom, Yes slats are nice to have, especially with servo option. The one I have is too small (80% scale) to be equipped with servos for slats / flaps, etc ... I want to keep the weight as low as possible. But I will do static flaps, around an angle of 15-20 degrees.

That really is the perfect park flier, isn't it? So maneuverable- you had it performing a ballet in the air, Lars! Very nice!!!

I pieced together one of the last test flights of the prototype before we released it. Rather than a bunch of technical babble I put one of my favorite flying tunes on there.

At this point, we worked out motor position, cg and hatch size. You'll notice how smooth the plane is flying-like butter! Knife edging is effortless! High alpha is so stable and slow. We were still contemplating rudder set up at this point and that's the part where you see me holding up the radio. Needed more rudder response!

Got my first 3 flights in with the F-16 mk2 today :)
    (1500 3S, 2200kv, 6x4 prop, AUW 17.1 oz)

Really enjoyed my setup with the elevons, ailerons at full, rudder, and spoilerons at about 67% deflection. It was a bit windy, and I could feel it on the sticks, but the plane wasn't a handful at all! Since I'm using MPF, the whole vertical stab warps when the rudder is moved, so rudder turns can get quirky. I'll get used to it. The slow flight on this thing is GREAT! With about 3-4mph winds gusting to 8, I could get it to just hover with VERY little wing rock.
DAGGUM this thing looks fantastic in the air!! Awesome work, Greg and Jay!

Nice work gibby. I actually ran a spar on the vertical stab and it has worked well to tighten all that up.

I had also used mpf as my medium.

    Awesome as always Tom!:)

,OK Weekend and some time over... ( time has come to trim the huge spruce hedge...:(! ) to add the third step to get even more lift. Static spoilers.

Yes, it is too small to add lots of servos.
