Flights were better! Getting more and more comfortable with the flight characteristics of the Tomcat each time :)

Due to the really strange sounds I got from the motor in previous flights, I swapped out the MJV2 for a trusty ole Turnigy 2200kv I've had since I got into the hobby. Issue persisted. It's actually the ESC that came with my MJV3 :/ So I'll have to swap this ESC out.

This Tomcat is the most photogenic parkjet I've ever built :)

Indeed! As far as sweeping wings between flights, it now only takes about a minute or so :)

Used to take me upwards of two mins... until I stripped the threads the bolts had made through the foam from me playing with the wings so much! Lol.
Not a problem in the least though - the wings still hold great during flights, the bolts and nuts haven't stripped a bit, and the washers help to really keep the pressure on :)

About that comment on the plane being photogenic...

Hey Guys, some great progress going on here.
Gibby, that was a nice video and it gave a good feel of the mid wing performance. It seemed very standard parkjet, nice and normal.

What a contrast seeing Dan's video with the sweep back delta mode. Rolls so fast and loops with more authority. Alot of fun seeing that both of those are the same jet!

I've got mine at the fully open wing setting and it flies like the Wild Hawk! Ha! It sails around and looks nothing like the above two. It's 3 different planes, not the same plane doing 3 things, ya know, that's how I look at it anyway.

I've been having a hard time getting out to film it but I'll get a table top video of mine up here soon! I'd love to show you the warranty-voiding-mods I've done with mine!

Dave, that's my favorite part of this plane. You load up one plane and take it to the field and you can spend a couple hours flying three different planes with the three different configurations! Oh, and our records show that you did not buy our protection plan, Dave, but for only $19.95 we can give you an extended two year warranty. :D
I'm patiently waiting to see that technological terror you've created, haha.

Ha! I just bought the $19.95 plan and when I went to use their toll free number it routed me to a guy in the UK that said that if I want to fly like a real man I've got to fly inverted... I took his advice and crashed upside down... Oh, I get a new plane for free though! I love this new plan!

Did he say that you have to fly inverted 3 feet off the ground, Dave? It will speed up the claim process

Woah! That was good all around- you even got a decent roll out of the unswept wing! Great to see the process of changing the wing sweep too, Gibby. Thanks for the excellent video! Oh, and the catches!!

Thanks for the kind words on the video, folks! I was trying to get footage of all three configurations in a single battery, but unfortunately, my cameraman didn't get an mid-sweep :/ lol

He only sees 'em when I bring one to visit every now and again - but does seem to really appreciate the craft. When I tell him I'm going to visit, one of his first questions is "are you bringing any planes?!"
He's seen the MiG V3, F-18 V3, Alpha Jet (which a passerby thought was a UFO, and threw tennis balls at it in flight... wtf), and now the F-14 :) He's responsible for my love of Top Gun, so he was all about that F-14!
