Oh the plane is absolutely fine, actually :) About 2.5 mins into the flight, I was getting no throttle when the stick was at 0 to -100. Landed it, messed with the limiting on the transmitter to fix that issue (should've realized something was wrong), then took back off. Had the same problem but for the whole time, until the engine complete shut off. Glided it in for a beautiful landing, smelled fire, took off the canopy... SO MUCH SMOKE!!! Disconnected the battery, brought the plane to pavement, then cut that ESC right out. Very glad I didn't have a battery fire!

Hahaha! Indeed. Very glad the BEC was unharmed. For 7 mins of combined flight time, this F-18 has already been through so much. lol!

Yes, you were really lucky! I think this was good for you, actually ...;)
The incident is now stuck in your cerebral cortex, you will never do it again!
A new ESC and your Hornet will once again rule the skies over your neighborhood!

This would make a good alternative for glassing wouldn't it?

Still use drywall tape but coat it with this rather than regular tac.

  10. Did u ever do a how-to paper covering video Airflow?

cuz there's no tooling around, full stick and full throws all the way and always on 4s!

I do not remember really, but I think I shared some YT links for you (a dude from Utah) regarding brown paper work? But I could be wrong, maybe it was someone else ...
    I do not know maybe ... How-to

I think you will need a bit more than foam tac and fibre glass tape to fix that! ;)

Tom, we'll see what the product is like soon. Getting a sample today, I think, and we'll give it a try.

I've only used the typical foam tac. I wasn't really sure what advantage 3-1 held over tac.

Then of course epoxy for those places i want to stiffen like the wing spar(s), control horns and motor mounts.
