Airframe is finally finished. Took longer than i expected because of my bad foam cuts so some pieces didnt line up perfectly, but the time is worth. This is easily the best looking design ive made. The 3d fuse speaks for itself. Even with this being the sloppy copy, it looks pretty good. Probably get the electronics in it tomorrow. Need to extend the batt wire other wise i have to cut tons of holes in the fuselage to get it to work. Excellent job FRC!

Looks great to me! Fyi, battery goes in the turtle deck not under the canopy, so you don't need to extend the battery wire. Bonus! Keep building!!

Yes, that hatch needs to be cut between the canopy and a couple inches in front of the motor mount.

F-15 finished! Came in at 21.1 oz with ntm 2700, 70 amp esc, elevons only and 1800 3s. For this motor setup it seems to be pretty light. Ive had a f-22 v2 that weighed this much with a mjv3. I have high hopes for this plane. Were flying later today so i should be able to maiden it. Maidened it this evening and it flew amazing. Cruising around at less than half throttle and had vertical at about 3/4. Really fun to do the loops and rolls. I extended the elevon hinges further forward on the elevon to reduce the probability of elevon flutter and i had not problem. Penetrates the air well with the 3d fuse. We had a pretty windy day and it didnt even need rudders. They would have helped but not necessary. As i was intercepting one of my friends planes, i folded the wings! I didnt use a spar, just the foam board paper. It folded and just pitched up slightly and became even more stable! I did another lap with the wings folded at a 35 degree angle. Landed in one piece. Will add wing supports and kf2 airfoil later this week. We got video but it may not be up for a few days. But a great flying plane guys, truly impressed.

Sounds like tons of fun! Any plane with this wingspan should get cf in the wings, especially with ntm prop drive motors! I'm glad the plane is able to fly another day. This f15 really is great at everything, bad at nothing. Thanks for the report!

I know i should have put cf in it but i dont have any right now and figured it would be a good test of the paper which held up perfectly for one flight.

2nd F-15 in history to fly and land on 1 wing, if this can do that then this is a really good scale flying model indeed :D

Yeah, love it! You've got hood piloting skills! The plane looked great too. So what do you think?

Flies amazing. Best scratch build ive flown that has speed and maneuverability with only elevons. I was really surprised how well the roll response was. The f22 and f35 v2s had very sluggish roll with elevons only. I need to get more foam board so i can add the kf step and the wing spar. But once i crash this one beyond flight worthy, im building another that will fly better and look better.

We like to have very responsive planes and that's why we say these are intermediate planes. With ailerons and rudders this thing is so maneuverable! This has the best rudder response out of any plane I've flown! Glad you like it, fishwhisperer83!
