Haki, great looking F15! A few if us have taken the kf step and Sanded it down (or taped over it) in order to make an airfoil type wing. It feels a little bit faster than a kf2 initially, but that's because it's producing less lift. The big plus of the kf2 step is that it produces vorteces that travel the length of the wing behind the step. These vorteces keep the airflow from separating from the wing and also generate less drag than an airfoil wing producing the same lift. The problem with the delta wings is that the root of the wing is so long that the airflow travelling along it will slow down to the point where it separates from the wing. Once this happens you lose lift and the wing stalls. The step prevents this and you will feel that in slow speed stability. Because the f15 is so fast and generates a ton of lift (20 percent of it) from its lifting body fuselage you won't suffer from it too bad from the Sanded kf2. But if you were to put a step back on, you'd find yourself trimming the plane up due to all the lift being generated by the step. Anyway, something to experiment with on the next one.

You should stop looking or your gonna have so many ideas that everyday life and work will get in the way of building all these great planes:D

    Boy that's no joke either.

I can barely find time to eat, sleep and carry on a normal life anymore

Even worse. ..I find myself scheduling my responsibilities around my build time. Even wishing for rain for a good excuse to keep at it.

It's become a new discipline anymore.

I only just started building these things a few months ago, now my days are not focused on what i'm supposed to be doing, but on my current build/what will i build next, or how soon i can get out flying. :)

It doesn't get any better as time goes on either! I've got a lot of stuff going on at work but all I can think of is what I'm not doing in rc. It's a great distraction though. It is certainly relaxing!

Hi, did you just contact us through the frcfoamies contact form? The email you entered must be wrong, we tried to reply but the email got returned.

You can mount the edf mid wing and you should get good performance.

Dogrunner, as Jay says, midmount is excellent because you still have tv and it keeps the weight low...

Did you notice any elevator flutter at high speed?

Hi just a question. The KF Airfoils are also both made from 6 mm Depron? Thanx in advance.

It depends on the effect you are looking for. 6mm is good. 4mm Dt foam works but does not have much of an effect. For kf4, I like using 6mm upper and 3mm lower kf which gives good lift and still some wind resistance! The choice is yours!

Since the weather has been to bad to fly I decided to build a FRC F15.I went with a highly visible paint scheme. FSCN0121.JPG

anybody have any idea as to what the max take off weight of the MK2 might be? I may have gone a little overboard.
