it took some doing...couple of different sized wheels i tried..then i made a bottom plate..and a inside frame for it..then got a servo setup and linkage made..it became a bit complicated..but it works...for now lol!

    some pics of it..

i have the nose wheel servo Y'd to the rudder servo...so they are linked...also took some trim and manipulation to get it all to work and be straight....i'm worried about the 1st flight and having the rudder trimmed badly and see how it is..or landing and then it turns hard on the front wheel....so we'll see...

I like the idea of you putting the spring between the wheel and servo. Saves servos.

Suggestion: If you have any appreciable wind, strongly suggest that you land directly into the wind for your landing. What happens is your fuse and tail are so large, your plane is so light, wheels are too close to each other, the sidewind (if you got any cross wind) will tip the wing down into grass or concrete, pivoting the plane and enough wind, flip it.

I even tried crabbin with rudder and as soon as you land with crosswind, it tips sideways after your wheel touch. What plane do you know of that has LG inside the fuse other than sea planes?

I will have a video of the maiden flight but I dont know when that will be because I have no money to buy electronics for it, Im hoping to put a steerable wheel on mine though.

yeah did the springs specifically to save the servo from stripping on a hard landing..

and yeah know i have to land direct int othe wind..i see some wing overs happening on the ground a bunch lol!

Theres something holding me back on this plane. I want to wire up 2 motors with one in reverse rotation, I dont know how to do that and I cant find a 8x3.8 in reverse rotation. Im pretty much stuck.

You do not need counter rotating props. Just use both 8x3.8. The fuse is so large that it won't cause any problems on takeoff or landing. In fact, I am launching a shuttle on top of mine with plain old 10x3.8 props.

    hobbyking...

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4350

comes as a really nice complete kit with the springs and the support and all i needed for the install...just had some scrap wood and cut the bar for it and was done...really affordable and nice setup...i got the 40mm size one..it's actually too big...and i had ot recess the shaft int othe plane to it didn't stick down so much...but thr 32mm one i posted the link for should work great for most setups of this size..

Ok so the dimensions are 39 1/4" x 39 1/4". The bay inside can be found up to 20" long 6" deep, and 5" width.[IMG] but remember if carrying a heavy load you want it around the cg, hence why my cargo doors are under the wing. [IMG]

So I've got some new 20 amp hobbyking ss esc's for my cargo, also counter rotating 9x4x3 props. Should get it out on the weekend. Look at the Mrs in the background, she really takes my hobby seriously!

Your wife should be one of those airplane models in that other thread! That's one hot looking.... Plane! It'll sound awesome with twin 3 blade props.

Ha, I've tried to get her to do them sort of poses, but she ain't having none of it! It does sound good with the 3 blad props, and gets awesome thrust from just a 2s.
This is as close as a pose as I'm going to get! [IMG]

Yeah - it's hard enough getting her to pose with your PLANE, let alone getting her to do it in a SWIMSUIT for your forum friends to ogle. I don't blame her!
