    Still air brushing the X-32.
Need to get this puppy finished and do some flying but too many distractions to power through it, hopefully I can get her finished soon.

    Thank you Mr. Dave,
I guess I'm getting a little carried away on this build, especially since I have the pdf print outs of your Superb FA-18 V4 and SU-34 to get started on. This is my first time messing around with an airbrush and you know how it is with a new toy. I had been using Testors spray paint with good results but the airbrush is more flexible and with a little practice easier to use. For a $75 investment I think in the long run the airbrush compressor combo might be cheaper than constantly buying cans of paint, we'll see. One thing I did on this MPF that is different from my other two builds was that I put down a very light foam sealer/paint before airbrushing. Doing this filled in some imperfections in the foam and allowed the main coat to adhere and apply a little better than it otherwise would. I also tried to fill in most of the seams/cracks with "Woodland Scenics" lightweight Subterrain Foam Putty. It goes on smooth, is very light and sands nicely. It's only drawback is that it does not take paint well but the sealer I used fixes that problem. Because the X-32 is a belly dragger I didn't want the foam soaking up any moister while puttering around in the grass on take off and for that reason I used a sealer before painting. When I finally get done I will weigh the plane and see how much extra weight has been added to the build. I am hoping it's not much of a problem as I am using the NTM motor and just the bench testing has been promising. Very anxious to fly the X-32.
    She deserves some Respect! ;)

Fitted the KF4's this morning and started on the colour scheme. Aiming to have it completed this evening. Not looking promising for a maiden this weekend though as the wonderful Northern Irish weather is not being very kind to flyers at the moment. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Man,.. I LOVE Ireland!!!
Visited Dublin in the 1980's,.. They are some of the Greatest people in the world! First bar I walked into an old dude bought me a drink. I asked him what is it. He said "does it matter?" I answered nope and after about 9 or 10 of them later my pards had to carry me back to the ship. I miss it, (Dublin and whatever that was I was drinking) ;)

Yeah, Ireland is great. I go there now and again. I live in Northern Ireland which is part of the UK despite being in the island of Ireland (confusing, I know even more so with the fact that I'm from Scotland!)

Love Scotland too! Spent some time in Glasgow on the same NATO cruise. Going through all of the locks on a Destroyer Escort was an experience. On that six week cruise I went to Kiel Germany, Portsmouth England, Liverpool, Dublin and Glasgow. UK and its people are GREAT! "The Colonies" could learn a thing or two about hospitality from them AND I have no doubt that their beer could solve all our economic problems . ;)

no! Sorry Tom, your correction came too late... :-/
Also a very good guess! Greg, you know my obstacles very well ;-)

Pileit1 Congratulations you won!!, yes the power line, my favorite obstacles! :)

Greg, the mailboxes were hit by a large Chevrolet Suburban again ... the second time InnAbout a year ... Just two weeks ago. The same Chevy Sub. and driver as last year ... I called the cops who came to write a report. The driver got back on his way home before the police had managed to leave the crime scene! hehe... ;-)

...and the police car was hidden behind the spruce hedge, so they jumped out on the road and stopped him :) Such a surprise... hehe! ... LOL ..he got busted for reckless driving, drunk driving and "leaving the scene of a traffic accident". So he's in trouble now ... He was so drunk that he could not blow into the breath analyzer. The police took him to the station for a blood test. He lost his license immediately ... the court will hear the case later this spring. :-D !!

    Maxiboxes...

    Thanks :)
Not a drop of paint on it. It's all done with tape. The orange and blue are from hobbyking wing tape, the black is car detailing stripe.

I've tried looking for tape around here. They make colored boxing tape but the choices I've found are quite limited. Then the price they ask for colored tape retail is rediculous.

    Tapebrothers.com

Anything you want at the right price.

Airflow you might have to put some orange markers on that power line.

    Haha! That was so good!
It took me a couple flights to find my set ups for the X-32.
Tough slow flying plane to bang around.

Hey man, that is looking really cool!
I liked starting with the rudder throws on low (10-20 degrees) and the elevons on medium (20-30 degrees).

CeeKay, I love that paint scheme! Looks good, but its also going to be excellent for orientation- great work! I wonder if Eagle Tree makes an astromech droid yet? :D
