  3. Awesome! Looks good and does appear to be a pretty simple and straight forward build from assembly images... Looking forward to build it!

Enjoy! I haven't built it but the way Jay flies it is amazing! You going to go scale or high performance?

  9. Cool! Got the plans last night and finished editing them for CNC...

Jay: For some reason I remember that the wing is removable - is that the case? If not, can it be made removable? She is a big bird!

Boom ... I'm going to need to clear off a good amount of space for this one. I would agree, she's a monster.

I noticed the exchange rate today was 2.51

This will be fun and thank you guys !!

Time to start researching foam suppliers....haven't felt the urge to build too much lately...a new design, and an epic one at that....any thoughts on using two motors only...with two fakes....just spitballing....

100% would work with two motors if you use 3s. We even considered this as standard but felt we needed to go with four.

Good to hear. Once I get into the build I will make a decision...and once I compile my parts available versus parts needed.

Well if you give the plans to your usual printer it will end up alot smaller than standard so two motors would be perfect

  16. Jay, I see that recommended motors are 2826 1400kv that provide 850g+ of thrust each with 3S setup so thats a ton of power - almost 3:1 thrust to weight ratio. I have 24g blue wonder motors: 2 with 1300kv and other 2 with 1500kv... wonder how would this setup do with pretty much half as much thrust than the recommended, any thoughts?

Also any updates on the substitute 3d printed parts?

Yes, I think it has a lot of power on 3s that's why it flys well on 2s. I should imagine the motors you suggested may work but as you say on 3s. It doesn't need a lot of power to stay in the air so might just work. Just remember to keep the power on when landing as she looses elevator authority at slow speeds if you cut the power. Oh, I'll have to dig out the files for the 3d printed parts!

Just wondering if the plastic parts from the Hobby King Lanc would go on this ... i have a full spare set sitting doing nothing. Maybe even the nacelle fronts ?

    Reading about the prop sizes and power levels ... wonder if 6x4 3 bladers on 1300 - 1500kv and 3S ? basically I have a box full of 6x4 3 bladers ....

Once I sort out my Mossie build ... the Lanc will be started to partner my HK one ...

Definitely not the same size, the hobbyking lanc is much smaller, so the plastic parts would not fit and I think 6" props would be to small. The 3d printer parts I am hoping to get up soon. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
