Ok, well that'll do it then! Not a problem as long as you have cg right! Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback Greg, much appreciated, the weekend weather doesn't seem to be co-operating according to the forecast, may have to wait for next weekend....

Wow! Are you sure you want to fly that thing Barry? I would mount that on the wall and build another one to fly!

    BarryM,
That is an incredible paint job. What method do you use?

Agreed, but it would not be possible without the time and effort you guys put into this incredible design. I would not have thought it possible to improve much on your original design. Clearly I was wrong.

Let's see............light NE wind this am, overcast with a little drizzle....couldn't resist it...full throttle....mmm...not enough thought I. Launched into the wind with the inevitable pull to the left, got to the stick in time and managed to correct a little to the right but alas........not enough power.:(
In the repair shop now the right wing cracked at the root, I think the spar is still intact busy with epoxy at the moment........I took a video of the event and once I have it edited I will post it, meantime a couple of pics...

Need more power but I don't think bigger motor is the answer, too heavy already...maybe a change of prop, I have a 7 x 5......any suggestions ???

HO NOOOO! 7x5 sounds a little big to me. I use 6x4 on all mine with 2826 2200 KV. My A-10 has twins with 5x4x3's but haven't done maiden yet. Had to use 5in for clearance.

Just done a couple of tests...first time ever
    On my Mig29 V4 I have a 2826 2200kv with a 6x4 prop 1800mah 3 cell battery....
    AUW 600g thrust 750g
    On the SU30 V4 I have a 2826 2200Kv with a 7x5 prop 2200mah 3cell battery....
    AUW 700g thrust 1000g
The thrust measurements were taken with the planes standing on their nose on a scale, not 100% accurate but close enough.
The A10 weighs in at 970g with the 2 x 1800mah 3 cell batteries needed to balance it on the CG, think I might try the 7x5 which will give me about a 1:1 ratio.... :)

    Thunderfisst...
Whats your AUW and how much have you got in the nose with what batteries to balance it ??

Beautiful plane Barry, but you have a lot of filler and paint way behind the CG....

( Of course you did check the prop was facing the nose?..)......H

Thanks H....with the long nose got quite a bit if filler up front too, only used about 30 or 40g in total, also checked the prop orientation.....I also chucked a couple of servos up front to counteract the elevator servos..not enough to use a 2200mah battery...probably too much hot glue and the reinforcing I did on the motor mount...
