Have you flown 3d yet? The biplane 3d plane is supposed to be a great trainer since the response is precise but a little slower than a yak or extra, for example. I love the edge, but can't wait to fly the beast for some serious stick time. I should have mine ready tomorrow night. Don't know how he did it, but Jay jumped all over this one and designed it, built it and flew it in 3 days!

Fanfold should work, but will need good reinforcing. I'm using 9mm epp and it really needs a lot. Jays depron one looks pretty stiff to me, but in the end, I plan on abusing mine and epp should do the trick!

nice f1, so the beast is a little calmer than the extra in aerobatics.

There are 2 plans available. 6mm and 9mm. Jay built the 6mm depron plane and I'm almost done with the 9mm epp version. Hope to fly this weekend.
I don't know if you guys know the history of the beast but it's pretty interesting. Brian Jensen was a pilot of many different aerobatic planes like pitts and 300s. He wanted the ultimate 3d plane with more than 1:1 thrust to weight ratio so he took a pitts model 12, made it a 1 seater, midified the structure, put a reworked Russian 9 cylinder radial engine in it, and tore up the sky with it. In August 2011 he was killed during a performance when he couldn't pull out of a maneuver. But, the plane was always a truly amazing performer. Interesting story. Here's a video of the plane and Brian Jensen in action :

Wow! That guy flew his plane like most of us would only fly a radio control aircraft. Very impressive. He died doing what he loved. Thanks for sharing the story of the beast. This looks like it is going to be a fun build. Thanks Greg and Jay! Now I just have to figure out where and how to fit it in to my build schedule.:)
