I had a real nightmare with making the hinges, somehow my tesa extreme tape didn't stick to the epp well.
    1. I cleaned the surface with 99% isopropyl alc, applied the tape -> didn't really stick.
    2. sanded the surface, applied tape to get the sanding "dust" fully away, re-applied tape -> didn't stick
    3. Applied Uhu Spray Glue (like 3m77) to the surface, let it dry for 2hours, applied the tape -> did stick, but when pulling the control surface to the max, the control surface slided out below the tape, enlarging the slot between wing and control surface.
    4. I had some laminate left over from my crashtesthobby planes, like the assassin/ grim reaper gave that a try :

so it might be overkill , but now it holds very well, -> cleaned, sanded the surface, spray glue, let it dry completely 12h+, apply 5cm wide xtreme tape, 8cm wide heat activated laminate over.

hey boxermad do you think that i could get the sketchup file for the beast. i want to make it 3d in a hexagonal fuselage design but not after the fact that i have the plane allready in foam, you know what i mean. it would be really cool and i would not misuse the file.

Sorry gm3, the files stay with me. We may decide to do something similar in the future.

no worries boxer, i can see why because if i was evil i would just change the file a little bit then sell it. so i have a compromise, i will take the dimensions of the plans and then make my own sketchup modifications, cool:cool:

oh wow! i was not gonna make it even close to as complicated as yours. i was gonna just put 2 depron rectangles on a 45 degre angle connected to the wing.

I'll get back to you on that gm3,can't remember off hand. If you just take the file to your local printer, they will sort it for you

ok so i got the beast all completed and i am impressed. i decided to go with just the profile version at first then the next one will be full fuse. i added a lot of reinforcements to the tail and the wing mount. i will have pictures when i get home from school.

Mines done and ready for testing. If weather and wind hold, should get to maiden her tonight. I got the HK 3axis stabilizer on her for shits and giggles. Made with dollar store foam as usual, 1450kv and a 8x4 on a 2C. Came in at 16.5oz total. Update later/tomorrow with pics/vids.
