Completed my F-18 before starting on the F-15. F-18 flies beautifully... Does not need much speed at all to have lift.

I'm running a 2700 kv motor (no name brand from China) with a EMP 6x3, 40A ESC. Tried to stay below 1/2 throttle (can maintain altitude at 1/3 throttle). Motor seemed fine, ESC got a little warm. Will have to cut some more ventilation holes. Or mount the ESC underneath the fuse - that's been done on the forums.

Swapped the 2700kv out for a bigger Super Mega Jet V2. This motor doesn't have to work as hard. There is so much lift it can handle the extra weight. I'm saving the 2700kv for a 90% scaled down version of the Mig-29.

    To Everyone In the World:

KV is only one small piece of information about a motor, and really doesn't tell us anything.

For example. I will use 1300KV:

Here is a 20 Gram motor that runs at 1300KV and can handle 40 Watts

Here is a 24 Gram motor that runs at 1300KV and can handle 80 Watts

Here is a 37 Gram motor that runs at 1300KV and can handle 100 Watts

    49 Grams, 1300KV, 200 Watts

    87 Grams, 1300KV, 420 Watts

    134 Grams, 1300KV, 740 Watts

    327 Grams, 1300KV, 2,000 Watts

Please, When discussing your Motor, Please Please give us more than just the KV rating. Please.

I believe @e3_Scott has a lot of experience with that motor. Maybe we'll be able to get his attention.
He should be able to give you some suggestions regarding what prop and battery work well with the 2212 2700kv.
I'm surprised you didn't find that motor to be adequate. Makes me think maybe you just need to try a different prop or something.
Maybe you can try it again on your Next plane!

This thing has been hanging on my wall since 2015... Since I've only been flying racing quads for 2 years, I was curious to see if I could still control it:

    Thoughts after two packs:
on 3S it feels massively underpowered, on 4S it starts to barrel roll as soon as you go above 3/4 throttle, the control surfaces have about 10 degrees of play in each direction, it yanks to the right for some reason, probably because something is ripping apart, and I need to get my eyes checked...

But it still flies! :D I'm impressed. Video of some low passes coming when I can be bothered to edit.
