.... and find yourself making some of the oddest little things that you would otherwise never consider buying off the shelf

Stocking stuffers for the grand kids.

A main "long stroke" undercarriage leg for a possible super light scale Depron job.

Printed in silver PLA. The wheel (printed hub, Depron 'tyre') is 64 mm diameter.
It will have a spring travel of no less than 50 mm!
If it ever gets built the final version of the U/C leg will be a carbon tube.

  4. Well for shittts and giggles because HK had a special on them I brought in some flexible filament and also some they call PC filament which is suppose to be stronger and higher heat resistant, extruder temp I believe is 280 to 300 degrees.

Polycarbonate should be quite strong but I've heard it's harder to print. Do you have an enclosure and all metal hotend then?

  6. I print with PC a lot of times and have never used an “enclosure” but I do have an all-metal hot end. Just one tip: make sure that you always print it on raft as its notorious for warping. Definitely a lot stronger than PLA! I printed the landing gear for zivko edge with PC and they held up really well!!
