I took the motor off but need my workshop facilities to strip it .
It does`nt feel tight but will swap it for another Z motor later.

The starting g.codes for the Cr10 suit the tronxy so that is a great relief.
Now I can start to fine tune it and get some printing done without pulling what little hair I have left completely out.
I must say the tronxy runs like a swiss watch compared to the CTC.
It has better quality stepper motors which are very quiet.
The extruded aluminim frame is very tight.
Probably get some better quality lead screws for the Z axis and improve the Y axis bed bearings to dual support instead of the mono rail.

I printed off a light bar and pi zero cam mount last night. I should receive the actual camera tomorrow so I can stop wearing a rut in the floor running between rooms to check on my print. It feels a little on the light weight side but we'll see how she holds up. I may need to redo in petg later to toughen it up some more.

Today I'm printing off a couple of gifts ...well admittedly one for me and two to give away.

My biggest issue now is print space. I am seriously tempted to buy a second printer and a length of 2020 railing.

Secure them back to back for added overall support and get busy running parts from that approach.

....a bench top solder dispenser. [IMG]

  5. Second one could be a multi color, maybe 3 or 4 colors so you really can go to town . ;)

I made a Pop-Pop boat and some 40mm fan covers with my Tronxy X3A .
I am well impressed with the fan covers and the Pop-Pop boat needs some more work to make it Pop.
I am now printing on a 2mm thick mirror using cheap hairspray as an adhesive, works very well.
Sorry about the photo`s poor quality no flash on the Motorola.

Currently building up a mount for a cable snake to keep the wiring to the extruder in check.
Looks good so far but I've taken bits off a few designs and combined them to get it how I want.
I'm going from the top left corner down to the extruder which seems about the easiest way around it.
Pics soon once it's printed and assembled...

I'm finishing out some of my small parts for this next build. Tomorrow the rest of my metal parts will be in and I can finally get the cargo plane up on her hind wheels.

    Cable snake setup and installed.

Works rather well I must admit!

Just printing a new end cap for the right side too with a bearing to hold the leads screw steady at the top the same as I added to the left side.

    Your cable snake looks good.
The last improvement I did on mine was to create a centre strut 'brace' to directly resist the tension of the Z axis belt.
    Zstrut3.JPG
In two parts the rear section bolts directly to the Z stepper motor.
It certainly seemed to improve the accuracy of the bed travel.

  13. Just incase you guys think maybe the buttons on your control board are going wanky or the board itself, try unplugging the usb. Not often but sometimes when I go to print off of an sd card I have a hard time getting down to the file because it will restart and go back to the home screen. I thought one of my buttons was going bad, but for the heck of it I unplugged the used and back to normal.

Has your board got 5 buttons? The tronxy has and they are awful. I have been thinking of changing it to one with the scroll knob like on the CTC i3 clown. I mean clone:D.

  15. Yes it does but once I unhooked the usb back to working perfectly.

I only print via the SD card now , it saves a load of frustrating messing around with the computer not recognizing the printer.

Definitely impressed at how the cable snake works. Might look at installing one for the y-axis too just for completeness.
Other half says I should have made it multi coloured :D
